Mission & History
Toti Diversidade is a remarkable Brazilian platform with a mission that warms the heart: education and inclusion of refugees and migrants in the technology sector.
Founded in 2019, Toti Diversidade focuses on empowering these individuals by offering free technology training programs specifically designed to enhance employability. But here’s the cool part: the content is tailored to fit the Brazilian job market.
Toti Diversidade provides refugees and migrants the ins and outs of web development, coding, and all things tech-related.
They also ensure that professionals are well-prepared to meet the technical and behavioral demands of the technology such as collaborating, communicating, and thriving in diverse environments. They set up shop in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with palm trees, samba rhythms, and a dash of carnival spirit—all while making a positive impact.
Country Information
Brazil hosts around 1.8 million refugees and migrants, primarily from Latin America and Africa, such as Venezuela, Haiti, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, and Guinea-Bissau. They face challenges like limited employment opportunities, language barriers, and difficulties with social integration, education, and healthcare. Despite legal protections, many struggle with discrimination and the recognition of foreign qualifications.
Toti Diversidade addresses these issues by offering vocational training in technology and related fields, improving employability and social inclusion. Their initiatives not only enhance economic independence but also promote diversity and multiculturalism in Brazil by showcasing the talents and contributions of refugees and migrants.
The Need
Toti Diversidade addresses the critical issue of unemployment and economic hardship among refugees and migrants in Brazil. Many of our beneficiaries face obstacles such as language barriers, unrecognized foreign qualifications, and limited job networks. Our primary objective is to close this gap by offering high-quality tech education, job placement assistance, and access to opportunities in the expanding technology sector. This support aims to help them achieve meaningful employment and enhance their socio-economic status.
The Project We Fund
We provide a cutting-edge solution to unemployment among refugees and migrants in Brazil by offering comprehensive web development training. Our platform equips individuals with in-demand skills through personalized education, job placement support, and company partnerships.
Over a year, we aim to train 150 participants, preparing them for roles in technology, commerce, administration, and logistics.
With a successful track record of 48 cohorts and over 1,270 beneficiaries, we are confident in our ability to deliver impactful results.
This project will directly improve the income and quality of life for 150 refugees and indirectly benefit 430 family members.
Our focus is on vulnerable refugees and migrants, prioritizing women, non-binary individuals, and Black people.

We also monitor long-term outcomes, such as job retention and career advancement. Student performance is evaluated through course activities, content visualization, attendance, project completion, and satisfaction surveys.
Monitoring includes:
-Daily: Participation, attendance, and project delivery.
– Weekly: Project delivery and routine management.
– Monthly: Follow-ups, development plans, career planning, and performance reports.
Assessments are both theoretical and practical, using questionnaires and feedback to identify and address challenges. We also measure student satisfaction and recommend scores (NPS) after course completion. Our goal is to boost income and employability, tracking changes in income and connecting graduates with job opportunities. We collect demographic data to better understand and serve our target audience.
