Philippines floods: Urgent support for safe water and hygiene

September 15, 2026

The floods linked to the southwest monsoon and successive tropical storms have affected millions of people across the Philippines, with many families still displaced and supported in evacuation centers. Homes, schools, roads, livelihoods and crops have been damaged, while standing water increases health and sanitation risks for already vulnerable communities – with Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Bulacan, Pampanga, Rizal, Laguna, Benguet, Pangasinan and Tarlac as areas most affected.

Think Human Fund emergency response with Planet Water Foundation

Think Human Fund is committing an additional €20,000 to support the emergency response in the Philippines.

Through our emergency partner, Planet Water Foundation, this funding will help provide AquaSafe Water Filter & Hygiene Stations, giving families access to safe drinking water and handwashing facilities when local systems are disrupted.

Anyone can donate now to support efforts: https://www.thinkhumanfund.org/donations/

Why we need more support

The needs remain significant. Think Human Fund’s €20,000 commitment is an important first step, but additional donations will allow us to reach more families with safe water, hygiene access and practical support in communities still recovering from the floods.

We are inviting donors and corporate partners to contribute so that 100% of the funds raised in September can go directly to this emergency project, through the governance and financial framework of Think Human Fund.

Corporate giving for natural disaster response

When a natural disaster strikes, companies often look for a trusted, transparent way to support affected communities quickly and responsibly. Think Human Fund offers a simple and reliable giving framework, ensuring that corporate donations are directed entirely to vetted field projects, with strong governance and full financial transparency.

This document explains the current emergency, how Think Human Fund is responding with Planet Water Foundation, and how donors can contribute to help reach more families.

How Think Human Fund works

Projects are identified and followed on the ground by Think Human Fund ambassadors who know the local context and partners. Each project is reviewed and approved before funds are released, then monitored to ensure transparency and impact.

In emergency situations, Think Human Fund can mobilize trusted nonprofit partners quickly, while keeping a clear governance and reporting framework.
