Colorie Ma Vie

Think Human Fund

Mission & History

The Association Colorie Ma Vie is an international solidarity association based in Nancy and which was created in 2010 to support the Malagasy population in the face of their shortcomings.

The association aims to act on health, education, well-being and the good life of the Malagasy population.

Country Information

Madagascar, one of the world’s poorest nations, grapples with significant educational challenges. Approximately 70% of its population lives below the poverty line, and the education system suffers from a low secondary school enrollment rate, with only 35% of children advancing beyond primary education.

Access to education is hampered by inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of qualified teachers, and high indirect costs, such as for supplies and uniforms. While the adult literacy rate stands at 76%, it is notably lower in rural areas.

The Need

To support Colorie Ma Vie Association in funding children’s education. The financial assistance will be allocated for various essential expenses, including covering tuition fees, purchasing computers to enhance digital skills, providing necessary school supplies, and funding support staff such as educators and homework helpers.

The Project We Fund

The Colorie Ma Vie Association aims to improve the education, health, and well-being of the Malagasy population by addressing social and medical deficiencies. Located in Antananarivo, “La Maison de Cathy” provides shelter to children aged 3 to 20 who are orphaned and lack family support. The Association prioritizes education, ensuring children grow up in a nurturing environment and have access to quality schooling in French, despite Madagascar’s high education costs.

To achieve this, funding will be allocated for tuition fees, which cover registration, monthly fees, and school activities. It will also finance a dedicated educator to assist with daily activities and home learning, helping children achieve the academic levels required for higher education entrance exams (CEPE, BEPC, and BAC).

Additionally, the funds will provide computers to enhance digital skills and essential school supplies, including uniforms, to meet school dress requirements. Overall, the support aims to empower these children, granting them the freedom to choose their educational paths and futures.

The Result

Providing education and support to improve academic performance fosters self-esteem, curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, independence, and a desire to shape an adult life through cooperation. To demonstrate the impact of the support on the children, grade books and teacher comments serve as key indicators. Additionally, success in end-of-level exams (CEPE, BEPC, BAC), along with passing yearly assessments necessary for progression to the next grade, reflect the effectiveness of the Foundation’s financing for the children’s education and their overall personal development.

2025 Midterm Report

The initiatives of Colorie Ma Vie significantly impacted the community by focusing on providing essential educational support. Through organized events like the Malagasy Meal and Charity Sauerkraut, the program successfully garnered financial support to enhance the educational opportunities for children. These efforts enabled 28 children to have access to continuous schooling with covered costs for supplies, registration, and transportation. Additionally, the initiative supported sporting activities where 15 children participated in sports like volleyball, soccer, and basketball, contributing to their social integration and personal development

Testimony

“Ben, a young middle school student supported by our association Colorie Ma Vie, has just reached an important milestone in his academic career: obtaining his BEPC (French National Certificate of Vocational Education). His path hasn’t always been straightforward. Faced with significant academic difficulties during middle school, Ben notably repeated his 5th grade. While initially perceived as a hindrance, this repetition proved to be a positive turning point in his development. It allowed him to revisit the fundamentals, strengthen his skills, and regain a form of self-confidence essential for any progress. Thanks to the regular, personalized support offered by our association, Ben was gradually able to regain a more stable academic dynamic. He learned to organize himself, ask for help when necessary, and, above all, believe in his abilities.

Today, we are proud to announce that Ben has successfully completed his BEPC (French National Certificate of Vocational Education). This achievement marks the culmination of a long-term effort, but also the beginning of a new phase. Next year, Ben will join a general second-year class, with the desire to go further.”
