Think Human Fund

Mission & History

LP4Y is an international movement of local organisations specializing in the development of innovative solutions for the professional and social integration of excluded Youth living in extreme poverty. For 16 years, LP4Y’s structure has facilitated the sharing of practices among diverse stakeholders, ensuring consistent and meaningful actions. By fostering collaboration and advocating for inclusion, LP4Y creates pathways towards a more inclusive world.

LP4Y’s mission includes accompanying the most excluded Youth in Asia and the Middle East towards their professional and social integration. Campaigning with young adults coming from extreme poverty to offer concrete, grassroots solutions addressing exclusion issues and engaging with partners to increase the number of initiatives that support Youth inclusion and multiply the impact

Country Information

LP4Y Egypt is an official local branch of the Egyptian Association for Comprehensive Development and a member of the international movement LP4Y Alliance.

The Need

The LP4Y initiative in Egypt aims to empower young adults, particularly young women, who face significant barriers to employment and personal development. With Egypt’s population of 19 million young adults, a high unemployment rate, especially among young women (43% compared to 12% for men), and 30% of youth neither employed in the formal sector nor in training, there is a clear need for programs that foster skills development and career opportunities.

The Project We Fund

To accompany 50 young women annually towards professional and social integration, enabling them to gain essential skills and access employment opportunities. To provide training sessions to over 1,000 community members, focusing on basic English and Arabic literacy, thereby improving the overall skill level of the local population. The project also has the long-term goal of securing international NGO status.

With Concentrix Egypt, the plan for the coming months is to start the same actions as already launched in Indonesia and the Philippines with the national teams, such as company visits where the Youth will visit a Concentrix site where they participate in a full-day immersion that includes a tour, job shadowing, and Mock Interviews conducted by employees. This will give them practical insight into the work environment and expectations of a corporate setting.

Training Sessions (Online or In-person): Concentrix teams will conduct four training sessions for next semester, focused on key employability topics such as digital literacy, customer service skills, resume building & interview preparation, emotional intelligence and workplace behavior.

These activities will be instrumental in strengthening the professional exposure of the Youth and reinforcing their employability skills.

The Result

LP4Y measures impact using Key Impact Indicators (KIIs) such as youth follow-up: integration rate, attendance, and program completion. Partnerships including professional exposure actions and job placements by partner companies and micro economic initiatives.

Central to LP4Y’s approach is weekly coaching, tracking improvements in behavior, social skills, and job readiness. After program completion, LP4Y tracks youth through the Central Youth Database to monitor job status and conditions. Alumni can also join the Star Club, which holds monthly dinners with Catalysts for updates on members’ progress.
